Timer popups are known to capture the undivided attention of your web visitors by taking over their screen space. What makes full-screen overlays an ideal marketing medium is that they give you the opportunity to deliver more value to your audience. In return, you get rewarded via conversions and sales figures.
Let’s look at how you can create timer popups with Optinly.
Step 1: After installing Optinly and successfully integrating it with your website, you’ll be taken to Optinly’s Welcome dashboard. Click “Create Campaign” to start creating a new campaign.

If you’ve already created a campaign, you won’t be displayed the welcome dashboard. You can click the “Create Campaign” button on the top right corner of your screen.
The next step will be about choosing a goal and setting a name for your campaign.
Step 2: Give a custom name and choose a goal for your popup campaign. Once done, click “Create”.

Step 3: When you click create, you’ll be taken to Optinly’s template gallery. This is where you’ll be choosing a timer popup template for your campaign.
You can either scroll down manually to find a fullscreen template or simply click the fullscreen tab as shown in the image.
Choose an appropriate template for your campaign and proceed with it. You can select a template by clicking on the “Use Template” option.
Step 4: When you choose a template, you’ll be taken to the popup launch dashboard where you can tweak the display options, have a preview of your template and more.
The multiple triggering options allow you to display your fullscreen popup at the most appropriate time to your audience.
Set specifics and head to the customization part. You can find it on the top left corner of your screen.
Step 5: Optinly’s inbuilt popup editor allows you to customize the chosen template to your taste. You can edit the popup copy text, change the background, close icon and CTA button color.
You also have the option to redirect users to a specific page after subscribing.
Optinly gives you the option to add the “Accept Terms & Conditions” phrase to showcase you are GDPR compliant.
Once finished, click “Save Template” and then click “Go Back to Settings”.
Step 6: It’s almost done. You’ve already set the popup triggering options. All you have to do is check once and click the “Save & Set Live” button.
You’ll see a success message as shown below.
It might approximately take 30 seconds for the changes to be reflected on your web page.
It’s done. You’ve successfully created your first timer popup campaign.
